Reading is located about 60 km west of London, in Berkshire, England. The town is renowned for having one of the UK's top ten shopping destinations. You can continue your walk southeast towards the Kennet and Avon canals and further to Reading Gaol and Oscar Wilde's Gates. Along the Kennet Canal, in Reading's Blake's Lock area, you will find historical industrial buildings and the Riverside Museum, featuring a permanent exhibition on past human activity along the rivers.
