You can reach the island via a toll bridge and continue on winding roads. The villages on the island vary in size, but the largest is Krk. Here you can find remnants of a city wall, narrow alleys, beautiful promenades, and great swimming spots. The most family-friendly and popular village is Baska, where our accommodation is located. It boasts a two-kilometer-long pebble beach, considered one of the most beautiful in Croatia. Losinj is another fantastic island connected to Cres by a small bridge. Losinj offers stunning nature experiences, cozy small villages, and a lovely climate. Our accommodation is in the most charming village on the island - Veli Losinj.
Kvarner is popular among locals from Zagreb, as they can quickly reach it by car via the new highway. On weekends, they bring a lively atmosphere that naturally transfers to the local population. Great excursions include the traditional resort town of Opatija, which has historical ties to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The island of Cres is easily accessible by ferries from the mainland or from the island of Krk. The Postojna Caves are about an hour's drive from the port city of Rijeka. And, of course, the Plitvice National Park, which is highly recommended.
