Tourist Tax Introduced in Malta
Authorities introduced an environmental tax on all the Maltese islands starting June 1, 2016. The environmental tax is paid directly to the hotel and is approximately EUR 0.50 per person over 18 years per night, with a maximum of EUR 5 per person per stay.
