Fažana has developed from a small fishing village into a quiet tourist destination with a population of 2,716. It is surrounded by pine trees, olive groves, and vineyards. The village still has a small workshop where smaller fishing boats are handcrafted, along with several restaurants and cafes, and a beachfront promenade. Fažana is perhaps best known as the port of departure for excursion boats to the Brijuni Islands. Local buses run to the city of Pula, about 8 km away.
