If you're traveling with children, a visit to "Port Aventura" is a must during your holiday. A common feature of all the seaside resorts along this coast are the wide, gently sloping sandy beaches. The bathing season lasts from early May to mid-October. Many of the resorts are lively and operate year-round, but for a true city pulse, head to Barcelona. Direct trains to Barcelona are available from most resorts along the Costa Dorada, taking 1-1.5 hours. You can also opt for a two-part trip by combining your stay on the Costa Dorada with a few days in Barcelona.
