Rügen is Perfect for a Road Trip!
Drive along the coastal roads of Rügen to Kap Arkona, Germany's northernmost point. This location still holds remnants of ancient fortifications from the 1100s. In the town of Putbus, stroll through green parks, enjoy concerts, or play a round at the newly established 18-hole golf course. From Putbus, you can also experience a 24-kilometer journey on the charming vintage train, Rasender Roland.
The island of Hiddensee, just off Rügen's west coast, is a car-free haven of diversity stretching 17 kilometers. From the lighthouse on its steep coastline, you can gaze out over picturesque villages and stunning landscapes.
Rügen is connected to the German mainland by a modern bridge, providing easy access. Though nearby, the historic town of Stralsund is worth visiting. Here you can explore attractions such as the marine museum Ozeaneum.
