Pau is a city in southwestern France and is the capital of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the Aquitaine region. You will find this gem in the heart of the former Béarn, 100 km from the Atlantic, 50 km from Spain, and bordering the Gave de Pau river.

There are several theories that this area was occupied during the Gallo-Roman period, and it was not until the early 13th century that Pau was used as a name for this place.
